HOMES Huddles

HOMES Huddles are virtual experience for all affiliated institutions to learn and interact with others from around the Region.

 

The goal of HOMES Huddles is to reduce business heard in boardroom while also increasing engagement within the region. With that, HOMES Huddle follows a biweekly format with one business (if needed) and one fun per month.

 

HOMES Huddles are a great way to form connections with people from around the region as well as a place to learn valuable skills to grow into an even more amazing leader. If you have any questions regarding the HOMES Huddle please reach out to the Regional Director at gl_director@nacurh.org.

Committees

Committees are focus groups in which a member on the RBD chairs to determine the goals and direction of the group.

​

Committees are a great way to get involved within determining how practices and policies are carried out within the region. These chair of each committee will determine how frequently they would like to meet to determine the timeline of tasks.

​

This year the committees and their respective chairs are as follows:

  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB) Committee - Chaired by Orin, gl_adnrhh@nacurh.org

    • Priority: Evaluate regional practices to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.​

  • Legislative Committee - Chaired by Andres, gl_director@nacurh.org

    • Priority: Evaluate regional policy to write legislation and update the GLACURH and NACURH Policy book​

  • Engagement & Spirit Committee - Chaired by Leyana, gl_recognition@nacurh.org

    • Priority: Evaluate regional communication/engagement platforms to increase regional outreach and regional spirit.

Below is an interest form. The priority deadline to join a committee is September 15th. Joining a committee is in a rolling basis in which a response should be received within a week of submission. If you do not receive communication to join the committee, please email the respective chair.

Polar Points

Polar Points is GLACURH’s first incentive point system created to recognize member schools and increase engagement in regional initiatives. Each member school affiliated with NACURH in the Great Lakes region is eligible and encouraged to compete in Polar Points. The winning member school will be congratulated at regional recognition at the NACURH Annual Conference!

How does it work?

So, your institution is ready and excited for Polar Points. But how do they work?
1. Attend a chat, participate on a task force, or do something else worth points
2. The designated RBD member will record your member school’s points
3. On the 20th of each month, point standings will be updated at glacurh.nacurh.org
4. Polar Points will run until one week before the NACURH Annual Conference
5. Points will be calculated and a winner will be announced at regional recognition
